If you are going to make a LEGO Technic creation that will be lit up like a float at the Disneyland Main Street parade, I suggest using multiple battery packs. But if you are making a LEGO vehicle, you’ll probably only want to light the headlights and the taillights, which I will detail later.
Hooking Up Your Power Functions Lights
The way you hook up your light pieces is important. Yes, you can just hook them up to your IR-RX device, just like you can hook up the steering and motor controls. However, if you hook them up this way, the lights will only light up when activating the controls on the remote (see Figure 4-2).
